Hi! I am Anne Willingham, the owner photographer behind Brown Bunny Photography. While I have been making pictures my whole life it seems, Brown Bunny Photography was officially opened in 2016 to serve Middle Tennessee families. We specialize in newborns up to the teen years, with a special emphasis on full service boutique sessions.
Originally an Alabama native, I moved to Nashville after receiving a Bachelor of Interior Design from the Auburn University School of Architecture and a Master of Fine Arts in scenic and lighting design from the University of Alabama.
I have spent a lifetime pursuing the arts, mostly as a theatrical lighting designer. I have designed for a number of theatre companies in the area including Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Vanderbilt Opera Theatre, and TPAC. In addition, I often work with high school and colleges, including adjunct work teaching an assortment of lighting and technical classes (Montgomery Bell Academy, Lipscomb University, and Belmont University).
My first job and first love was teaching swim lessons. I have taught swim lessons every summer for the last thirty-four years. For twenty-five of those years I also coached swim teams, first in Birmingham and then in Franklin. I love teaching kids! My specialty is ages three to five. It is such a joy watching the little guys become smart and brave and proud of themselves. Little kids rock!
Photography blends all of my abilities and loves into one big happy creative project. There is the technical aspect of how light affects the body and the artistic aspects of composition and framing and editing. Then there is the kid aspect. I love being silly and goofy with your kids. My photo sessions are a blast for all of us. Photo sessions use all of my educational background. Sessions are like small plays. What story are we telling about your kids? Figuring out what products work best for your home and life uses my interior design background. I want to fill your home with beautiful new artwork of your precious loves. Working with children uses the skills and tricks I have learned from thirty-four years of teaching preschoolers. Plus, photography is just plain fun!
Thank you for your interest. I would love to chat with you on the phone and perhaps meet you for coffee and talk about how we can craft your session!
