My grandfather built me a dollhouse when I was six. I spent hours rearranging furniture, inventing stories, and creating entire worlds inside those tiny rooms. My cousins and I built forts, put on plays, and imagined adventures until the details felt real enough to step inside.
Years later, my five nieces became my favorite co-conspirators, happily stepping into those imaginary worlds and helping me dream up new ones. Many of my earliest Brown Bunny photographs were created with them by my side.
Looking back, I realize I never outgrew that part of myself. Today, I simply build those worlds for children instead.
I don't pose children nearly as much as I play with them. The best photographs happen when they're laughing, exploring, pretending, and completely absorbed in childhood. My job isn't to direct every moment—it's to notice the beautiful ones as they unfold.
You spend every day taking care of the people you love. When you arrive at Brown Bunny, my hope is that you can simply take a deep breath. I'll guide you through every step so you can relax, enjoy your family, and let me take care of the rest.
I've spent my life creating.
From theatrical lighting and interior design to teaching children to swim, building props, fiber art, and fine-art printmaking, every experience taught me something about light, storytelling, craftsmanship—and the wonderfully unpredictable nature of children.
Today, all of those pieces come together at Brown Bunny..

I believe childhood is worth protecting.
I believe parents deserve to feel cared for.
I believe beautiful artwork begins with trust, not perfection.
If that sounds like your kind of childhood, come make something with me.
